From the early design stages, the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel was built with the environment in mind. Now, the associates of the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown have taken stewardship of this effort. Taking great pride in their property, the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown team is finding new and inventive ways to reduce the Hotel’s environmental impact, with the guidance of both their on-site Green Committee, and the direction of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Department of Environmental Sustainability.

In a landscape famous for red rocks, blue skies and golden sunshine, Greater Phoenix takes great pride in being green. The Phoenix Convention Center is LEED certified, METRO Light Rail is virtually pollution free, and the City of Phoenix has created more than 80 sustainability programs in water, energy and natural-resource conservation. How serious is Phoenix about being green? Well, in spring of 2009, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon unveiled a 17-point plan to make Phoenix the first carbon-neutral city in the United States.
