Practice Greenhealth and the Green Guide for Health Care (GGHC) are presenting this program for professionals who own, design, build, operate, and maintain health care facilities and are interested in applying LEED concepts to their building projects. Topics covered include tools and insights needed to incorporate green building practices into your health care project. Included are integrated design, health-based considerations for materials and methods, and successful strategies and practices for energy and water efficiency and the prerequisites for designing a high performance, healing environment

As places of healing, hospitals have a natural incentive to provide food that is healthy for people and the environment in which we live. By understanding the link between food production and food related disease, health care practitioners can begin to educate their patients, model appropriate food purchasing and help transition our food production and distribution system to one that is protective of human health.
This one-day workshop is designed to help participants learn about the growing demand for sustainable and nutritious healthcare food. Attendees will learn about cost effective procurement strategies that emphasize health concerns that meet the unique needs of health care. Participants will also receive tools and references to help them implement innovative ideas into their food service and dietary programs.
